7th Grade Reflection:

In August I expected the school year was going to be great. I hadn’t seen my friends all summer and I was dying to see them. What could go wrong this year?
I had everything I needed to survive this year but I would soon find out I was wrong.
Kids were mean. If you didn’t fit in you would get picked on. I used to wear a lot of bracelets which I loved so dearly but I had to stop wearing them
before winter break because other students would stop me in the hallway to pull up my bracelets and ask me if I self harm and they would laugh so
much about my bracelets and how people thought I self harm. It wasn’t the people pulling my bracelets up that made me upset it was the self harm jokes. Self harm isn’t funny at all and
people need to stop making jokes about it. I also found myself being teased for being “goth” or “emo”. Yes I enjoy wearing lots of eyeliner but that doesn’t mean you
have to be rude about it.
For next years 7th graders I would like you to know:
*Other students will be mean but you have to tell them to stop if they are.
*Just because lots of other people are dating doesn’t mean you have to (the majority of them don’t understand you can have a friend of the opposite sex).
*Only tell your secrets to people you trust. Some friends who you thought you could trust turn on you.

Sorry if I started ranting about mean kids but I had to write this on my 7th grade year.

  1. Well I think you dress adorable, Kira! And the good thing about you is that YOU are NOT one of those mean kids. Continue to be the sweet, kind person you are because I promise you that what goes around, comes around…Karma… 🙂
